The Bud Rogers Youth of the Year contest, a program sponsored by Covelli Enterprises, recently sent Cohen to Troy, Mich. to compete against nine other Youth of the Year winners from Boys & Girls Clubs throughout Ohio.

People learn in many different ways. I believe that I learn best by studying others. I was fortunate to have learned from my parents and countless role models throughout my life. And I am still learning – every day. I learned a lot and gained amazing inspiration from dozens of Pittsburgh youth who entered Covelli Enterprises’ Fourth Annual Martin Luther King Writing Contest and Leadership Award.

We are in the service business. We pride ourselves on treating our customers with courtesy and respect. That’s what my late father, Albert Covelli, always taught me about operating restaurants and that’s one of the main lessons we’ve stressed to our associates. So, it’s thrilling for me to walk into one of our Panera Bread restaurants and see our staff members practicing what we’ve taught them.
