Simon Ferreira has been a wonderful team member at Panera Bread in Deerfield Beach, Florida for nearly 2 years. Covelli Enterprises is proud to announce that Simon was a recipient of the Panera Bread Dream Scholarship in June.

The Panera Dream Project was created to unlock the dreams and potential of associates and provide opportunities through access to Education, Experience, and Ownership. Scholarship award recipients are based off of academic performance, community/volunteer service, background, and work experience.

Our Florida Panera team members all agree that Simon is very deserving of the Dream Scholarship. “I’m so proud of Simon,” said Ashleigh Do, General Manager of Panera Bread in Deerfield Beach. “I love having him as an associate because he is very nice, respectful, and works hard. He is a team player, and we all really enjoy working with him. I know he will go on to accomplish great things in the future.”

As a part of the scholarship application process, Simon submitted an essay on his decision to forgo playing soccer, a sport he has played since he was 5 years old, in order to focus on academics, getting a job, and getting into a great university, of which he accomplished.

Simon recently graduated from Monarch High School and will be heading University of Central Florida in Orlando where he will be majoring in Industrial Engineering. “It means so much to me to be a scholarship recipient,” said Simon. “I know my parents are very grateful and proud. The scholarship will allow me to focus on my studies, join clubs, do internships, and enhance my future career without having to stress about my financial situation the first few years at college.”

Simon enjoys laughing and joking with the Panera team and said his co-workers have become great friends. He believes a great team makes your job much for enjoyable. Simon will be missed when he goes off to college later this summer, but we can wait to see what he accomplishes!
