I really don’t know where to begin except to say “thank you.”

I have so many people I want to thank for helping to make our campaign to raise funds and awareness for autism such an amazing success.

Our puzzle piece cookie sale ended Sunday and the Austintown store sold the most puzzle piece cookies to raise funds for autism. But there are countless winners in our corporate wide campaign.

The Panera Bread restaurants that participated in the Covelli Enterprises campaign sold a total of 175,288 cookies and we had hundreds of people tweeting pictures of themselves with the cookie to #everycookiecounts. From Ohio Gov. John Kasich to Columbus Gov. Michael Coleman, the campaign to raise awareness about autism, appears to have picked up momentum.
Television anchors in markets in Ohio and West Virginia were all over the story.

Thank you for your interest, your compassion, your professionalism and your great storytelling.

We all know that the way for us to improve a problem in society is to call attention to it. I think we’re getting pretty good at calling attention to this problem of autism. I don’t think there was a single television or radio station who didn’t cover this story.

Now, our team members. There are so many whose contributions are mighty and some whose are personal.
Let me start with Kevin Teall, manager of one of our Panera Restaurants in Dayton.

His twin sons spent four months in Dayton Children’s Hospital, the organization that is receiving the proceeds of the cookie sales in Dayton.

Teall said he had no idea how important the hospital was to him until his sons were born.

Then, there is our amazing baking department led by Dallas Cox, Pam Wolosik, Anthony Whitley, and Matt Levine. Their bakers worked overtime to produce over 175,000 shortbread cookies for this fundraiser.

There is Denise Towne the general manager at North Ridgeville and her who sold 2,910 cookies.

And then there is Steve Miller the general manager at Canton and his team who sold 2,893 cookies.
