I guess it’s fair to call me a competitive guy.

But there’s winning and then there’s really winning.

Covelli Enterprises has a lot of wins every day. We are the largest franchisee of Panera Bread restaurants. We win many Panera corporate-wide awards for sales, for cleanliness, for service. And I am proud of all of those accomplishments.

But there’s another category of accomplishment where we’re really excelling and that’s in our service to the community.

Business First in Columbus recently recognized our efforts by awarding our company with its Corporate Caring Award.

I am so proud of this award because it recognizes the work that we do to support to our communities every day. We take corporate responsibility seriously.

In Columbus, for instance, our Panera Bread associates volunteer to serve meals to the hungry at soup kitchens; they pack items at a food pantry and they work at many charity events. As a company, we donate millions of dollars of food to organizations and also to support many worthy causes through monetary donations.

We work hard to deliver on our commitment to give back to our communities every single day.

Business First recognized this, and I appreciate the recognition for our 30,000 employees who care deeply about what they do and whom they serve.
